Canine and Wine Dinner
Sunday | July 19 | 5pm | The Tent at Discovery World
BARTOLOTTA RESTAURANTS PRESENTS THE FIRST ANNUAL: CANINE AND WINE DINNER
$85 per person, plus tax and gratuity
A portion of the proceeds will go toward the Wisconsin Humane Society
FEATURING
DR. KENT ROSENBLUM , Winemaker
ROSENBLUM CELLARS Alameda, California
MENU
- Prosciutto wrapped gulf shrimp, summer fruit and mango-vanilla gastrique
- Braised duck raviolo, Savoy cabbage, roasted tomatoes and nueske bacon
- Roasted leg of lamb, wilted spinach, risolette potatoes, roasted garlic and lamb au jus
- Peach and mascarpone cheesecake, apricot compote and apricot sorbet
A very special event- our first “Wag n’ Whine”, “Hooch & Pooch”, “Pups & Sups” you get the idea! We LOVE dogs!! Joe and Jennifer Bartolotta own four beautiful Golden Retrievers- and Jennifer is on the Board of the Wisconsin Humane Society. We also love amazing wine dinners with top winemakers, who fly in just for our special dinners, so we thought- why not combine the two and have a CASUAL dress event, outside in a beautiful tent right on the lake?
Owners can bring their best friends (and spouses!) and we will have a special fenced area for their dogs inside the tent. The dining tables will be right beside, so the dogs can always see their owners. We will have volunteers who will pick up any “special” gifts the dogs leave. The socialization will be great for the dogs and their owners.
For the wine- we could not do any better then the famous “Dr. Zin”- Dr. Kent Rosenblum, who for over 30 years has been one of California’s top winemakers. Kent is also a licensed veterinarian, who has served on the board of the Humane Society. In addition to the 30-some odd wines he makes each year- he makes a special wine-“Chateau La Paws, Cote de Bone” and donates a portion of the proceeds to the Paws with a Cause charity.
In December, a local mall was stunned by the turn-out when they organized a “pets picture with Santa” event that drew huge crowds, proving that we MIlwaukeans love our dogs. The Wisconsin Humane Society is also one of the country’s strongest chapters, and we are proud to be able to offer support.
We will offer four great courses of food, matched with wonderful Rosenblum wines. Kent will speak on the wines, and his personal history as a well-known winemaker and vet.
You don’t need a dog to attend this event-BUT you do have to love them!
